Abstract

Neutron star dynamics: Beyond the perfect fluid assumption

I will provide an overview of recent work on neutron star oscillations for models having either an elastic crust or a superfluid component (or both). I will focus on the new features associated with these, non-perfect fluid, components and their relevance for magnetar QPOs, pulsar glitches and the r-mode instability.
