Experimental evidence for and optical spring |
The radiation pressure will play a crucial role in the next generation of laser interferometric detectors of gravitational waves. A very clean peak compatible with the stiffness induced by radiation pressure is observed in the motion of a Fabry-Perot cavity suspended to the Low Frequency Facility. The experimental evidence is presented and discussed. |
