Abstract

APO1

The Power of Suzaku for Broadband X-ray Studies of AGN

The power of the new Suzaku X-ray satellite is demonstrated in the following areas, using instruments covering the energy range from 0.4 keV to 300 keV simultaneously: 1) the unambiguous measurement of broad iron line components, e.g. NGC 3516, MCG-5-23-16, NGC2992 2)measurement of X-ray reflection parameters and the comparison of the FeK line to the reflected component 3) high energy cutoffs, e.g. NGC4945, and the integration of AGN in the synthesis of the X-ray background 4) time variability of spectral components and their connections, e.g. variability in the red FeK wing of MCG-5-23-16
