Abstract

QG1

A Field Theory Model With a Lorentz-Invariant Energy Scale

This talk will approach quantum gravity phenomenology making the assumption, appearing for example in deformed special relativity, that a particle’s momentum space may be curved by a new Lorentz-invariant energy scale. This feature is implemented by introducing a fifth dimension and an extra constraint on physical field configurations. It turns out that for deformed field theories to reproduce low energy physics, their formal structures has to be quite similar to standard QFT. This talk will discuss the consistency of the deformed field theories as well as possibilities for detecting quantum gravity effects in particle experiments. (Based on hep-th/0601030.)
