Abstract

BHT4

Isolated and dynamical horizons form a common perspective

Isolated (null) and dynamical (space-like) horizons play the role of a black hole's boundary in, respectively, quasi-stationary and dynamical situations. I will present how one can treat them simultaneously using "signature--blind" variables and how one can use these variables to investigate small perturbations of an IH or seek exact solutions of the constraint equations on a DH.
