Optical reference geometry and inertial forces in Kerr-de Sitter spacetimes

The optical reference geometry enables to introduce the concept of inertial forces which provides a description of relativistic dynamics in accord with 'Newtonian' intuition, whereas properties of the optical geometry and inertial forces reflects some hidden features of spacetimes. We discuss behaviour of the forces in the Kerr-de Sitter spacetimes and their limit cases, representing in this way the influence of the rotational and cosmological parameters on the particle motion. Obtained results are illustrated by embedding diagrams of the optical geometry, closely related to the behaviour of the centrifugal force.

Pseudo-Newtonian potential for Schwarzschild-de Sitter spacetimes

We present the pseudo-Newtonian potential for approximative descriptions of relativistic effects in the Schwarzschild-de Sitter spacetimes. The definiton of the potential following from the optical reference geometry formalism is given and its validity is established by comparing the pseudo-Newtonian quantities characterizing the astrophysically important marginally stable and bound orbits with the exact relativistic ones.
