Science and Technology of the European ELT |
The Science case for the future European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) will be presented with special emphasis on synergies with other planned ground and space based major facilities. The top cases cover three broad science questions: 1) How do exo-solar planetary systems form and evolve?; 2) How did our Universe became structured?; 3) Do we understand the extremes of the Universe? The Technological advances that make such a giant photon collector with exquisite image quality possible will then be briefly discussed. |
