A novel scheme for an acoustic gravitational wave detector: DUAL |
We recently proposed a new scheme of acoustic detector, DUAL, which is based on nested massive resonators and could achieve very significant advances in the sensitivity to gravitational waves in a very wide frequency band, 1-5 kHz, which is of great interest for the study of the gravitational wave radiation from compact stellar objects. In this framework, we will briefly review a few alternative configurations of the detector which are currently under study, commenting on their relevance in a wider network of future detectors. |
