Abstract

APT1

NIR photometry, spectroscopy, and polarimetry of SgrA*

SgrA*, the SMBH in the centre of the Milky Way, has been observed in the near infrared since 2003. Although in general not detectable in NIR, SgrA* regularly shows outbursts of radiation (flares) lasting typically ~1 hour. In the last years, several of these flares have been observed and analyzed photometrically, spectroscopically, and polarimetrically. The results of these observations, which allow statements on possible emission mechanisms, will be presented in this talk.
