Abstract

Effective vacuum refractive index from gravity and present ether-drift experiments

A re-analysis of the Berlin and Duesseldorf ether-drift experiments provides clean non-zero daily averages for the amplitude of the signal. The two experimental values are entirely consistent with the theoretical prediction in terms of the effective vacuum refractive index that one obtains, for an apparatus placed on the Earth's surface, in a flat-space picture of gravity.
