Abstract

Discrete sampling variation measurement technique for sub-SQL sensitivity detection of gravitational waves

We propose a new method of discrete sampling variation measurement (DSVM) which allows to overcome the quantum limitations of sensitivity imposed by uncertainty relation and, therefore, increase the sensitivity of advanced gravitational wave detectors. This method is based on a well-known technique of quantum variation measurement but allows to get rid of its disadvantages. It is proposed to use this technique in prospective intracavity schemes of advanced gravitational wave detectors. The analysis shows that this method allows to overcome the Standard Quantum Limit of sensitivity in wide frequency band and, therefore, can be regarded as feasible for implementation in third generation of advanced gravitational wave antennae.
