Abstract

Projective geometry and spacetime structure

The possibility that projective geometry describes the electromagnetic structure of spacetime in the same way that Riemannian geometry describes the gravitational structure is presented. The manner by which the electromagnetic structure then implies the gravitational structure as a corollary is discussed. The key to connecting the two theories is the way that the propagation of electromagnetic waves implies the Lorentzian structure that manifests itself as gravitation.
