Abstract

The force-free magnetosphere of a rotating Black Hole and Energy Extraction

After a brief introduction to 3+1 electrodynamics of curved space-times, we will discuss the nature of the stationary, axis symmetric, force magnetosphere around a Kerr Black Hole. We will then present a generalization of the split monopole solution of Blandford and Znajek. We conclude our discussion by presenting an exact (and only known) class of solutions to the Blandford-Znajek constraint equation and analyze its physical properties.
