Perturbatively non-uniform charged black strings: a new stable phase

The final fate of Gregory-Laflamme instability is one of the most interesting problems in higher dimensional gravitational theories. We investigate the thermodynamical stability of gauge-charged non-uniform black strings with using higher-order perturbations. The results suggest that there exists a new stable phase of non-uniform black strings, which can be the final fate of the dynamical instability.
