Different paths to numerical simulations of compact binaries |
Topic of this presentation is the numerical simulation of compact binaries. Focus will be the comparison of different approaches to achieve such simulations, both in fully non-linear general relativity and using approximative methods. The key question to be addressed is, how the different approaches agree, and thus provide a realiable platform to derive physical quantities and accurate waveforms to support the ongoing efforts to detect gravitational waves. |
