A General Covariant Stability Theory |
In the present work we establish a general covariant theory which can be used to study the stability of any system treated geometrically. Stability conditions are connected to the magnitude of the deviation vector. This theory is a modification of an earlier work by the same authors concerning stability. A comparison between this work and the earlier one is given. The suggested theory can be used to study the stability of planetary orbits, astrophysical configurations and cosmological models. |

An Alternative Source for Dark Energy |
In the present work, an alternative interpretation of the source of accelerated expansion of the Universe is suggested. A probable candidate is the interaction between the quantum spin of a moving particle and the torsion of space-time, produced by the background gravitational field of the Universe. This interaction has been suggested by the author in a previous work [1], with some experimental [2] and observational [3] evidences for its existence. It has been shown that this interaction gives rise to a repulsive force. The accelerated expansion of the Universe may give a further evidence on the existence of this interaction on the cosmological scale. [1] Wanas, M.I. (1998) Astrophys. Space Sci., 258, 237.
