A 5-Dimensional Yang-Mills Cosmic String |

A cosmic string-like solution is found in the coupled Einstein-Yang-Mills theory in a 4- and 5-dimensional axial symmetric space time. The model depends only on two parameters, the ratio of the gravitational- to YM-coupling constant and the cosmological constant. In both solutions an angle deficit is present. The effect of a Gauss Bonnet term in the 5-dimensional model is investigated. |
