Simulations of Massive Black Hole Binary Mergers |

Coalescing massive black hole binaries are expected to be among the most spectacular gravitational wave sources, observable by the NASA/ESA LISA detector. Not only will merger events reveal rich phenomenology of extremely strong and dynamical gravity around massive black holes at the centers of galaxies, thus providing an excellent testing ground for general relativity, they will also make important contributions to the understanding of massive black hole evolutions. In this talk, I will describe some of our recent calculations of the comparable mass binary black hole mergers and resulting gravitational waveforms. |
