BLACK HOLE BREMSSTRAHLUNG IN THE NONLINEAR REGIME OF GR |
Abstract _ |
We examine the decay of a black hole in motion, due to nonlinear gravitational perturbations that correspond to the deceleration of the black hole. In the nonlinear regime of GR a radiative transfer process is set up through which the black hole loses its kinetic energy and part of its rest mass by the emission of gravitational waves. The angular pattern of the radiation emitted is typical of bremsstrahlung. The process corresponds to a high power output in the initial burst. For black holes of two solar masses the power output during the initial pulse is of the order of $10^{40}$ ${\rm Gev}^{2}$ and could provide an efficient mechanism for the generation of GRB's. |
