Factor ordering and critical energy in quantum cosmology

Abstract_

In the framework of Loop quantum cosmology a minimal energy for a dynamical evolution of the flat Friedmann model with a massless scalar field was observed. Here we consider the appearence of such a critical energy for the flat, the positive and the negative curved Friedmann model with a cosmological constant in standard quantum cosmology in connection with the factor ordering ambiguity of the Hamiltonian constraint. We find that the critical energy is present also in continuous standard quantum cosmology for all signs of curvature. Like the behaviour of the wave function near the singularity, it depends strongly on factor ordering, whereas the cosmological constant has little influence.
