Big-Rip, Sudden Future and other exotic singularities in the universe. |
Abstract _ |
Current observational data and the particle-physics-motivated cosmological models (superstring, M-theory) allow more exotic types of singularities in the universe than just a Big-Bang and Big-Crunch. One of them is admitted due to a superfast acceleration of the universe (a Big-Rip), another is possible due to unconstraining the evolution of the energy density and pressure (a Sudden Future, a Finite Density) and other appear under some different conditions (type III, type IV). I will discuss the nature of these singularities and present the links between their emergence and observations. I will also study the behaviour of both point particles and strings at these singularities and formulate some new energy conditions which could help to classify those singularities. |
