Gravitational Radiation Reaction to a particle orbiting around a Rotating Black Hole

Abstract_

The future gravitational wave detection project in space, called LISA, is likely to detect gravitational waves from the so-called extreme mass ratio inspiral which is the inspiralling binary system consisting of a galactic supermassive black hole and a stellar mass compact object. In order to subtract astrophysical informations from the gravitational wave signals, theoretical understanding of the gravitational waves from such a system is necessary. Because of the extreme mass ratio, the black hole perturbation can describes the gravitational evolution of the system. In this talk, we discuss the recent progress in the study of gravitational radiation reaction using a black hole perturbation theory.
