A LINK BETWEEN GENERAL RELATIVITY AND QUANTUM MECHANICS

Abstract_

For a number of reasons including a g-factor g = 2, the most probable external gravitational and electromagnetic field of the electron can be approximated by the Kerr-Newman solution to the Einstein-Maxwell equations. It is shown that the Kerr-Newman solution when applied to the electron gives rise to an uncertainty in the position of the particle. The size of the uncertainty is the Compton wavelength. This is precisely the uncertainty which is usually postulated for the electron. This can be taken as an indication that the uncertainty in the position of the electron is actually a consequence of the Einstein-Maxwell equations together with the quantized nature of the spin.
