Lifetime of particles in presence of the cosmological constant |

We present an evaluation of the lifetime of a "particle" in presence of the cosmological constant. The framework is that of quantum field theory on the de Sitter manifold. This issue is also an example that exhibits the significative differences that exist between standard QFT calculations and the same calculations on curved manifolds. The possible physical consquences are also discussed. |
