Abstract

Spin-Torsion Interaction and Fields With Axial Symmetry

An Absolute Parallelism (AP-) structure, with axial symmetry, is given. This geometric structure is used to solve the field equations of the Generalized Field Theory [1], in the case of pure gravity. The solution is adjusted to represent the field outside an axially-symmetric object. Motion, in this field, is studied using a generalized geodesic equation [2] containing a term representing spin-torsion interaction. Effect of this term on measurable quantities is calculated. Comparison with previous work [3] is given. [1] Mikhail, F. I. and Wanas, M. I. (1977) Proc. Roy. Soc. London {\bf 356}, 471-481. [2] Wanas, M. I. (1998) Astrophys. Space Sci.{\bf 258}, 237-248.
