g-modes in rotating neutron stars |
i will review recent work that has been done concerning oscillation modes of rapidly rotating neutron stars in the relativistic Cowling approximation. For perfect fluid stars, it is now possible to investigate rotational effects on all three major mode classes (pressure-, inertial- and gravity-modes) up to the breakup-limit. In particular, this can be applied to study nonaxisymmetric instabilities and the connection between inertial- and gravity-modes in stratified stars |
