Radiation in theories with extra dimensions

We review recent development of classical radiation theory of point particles in flat and curved space-times of various dimensions and topology. These include even and odd-dimensional Minkowski spaces, the product of four-dimensional Minkowski and a torus, as well as general curved space-times within the local treatment. A closed form formula for radiation of different spin in odd-dimensional Minkowski space is given, and the problem of classical renormalization is discussed. It is shown that radiation properties in presence of compact extra dimensions interpolate between those in the purely four-dimensional case and in the uncompactified Minkowski space. The equations of motion accounting for radiation reaction in curved miltidimensional space-time are derived.
