Lorentzian Manifolds and Causal Sets as Partially Ordered Measure Spaces

In the Causal Set approach to Quantum Gravity the fundamental structure of Spacetime is taken to be that of a locally finite partially ordered set, in which the partial order is interpreted as causal relations and volumes of subsets are defined simply by counting elements. We report on progress proving that this structure is rich enough to determine a Lorentzian manifold up to small scale variations. The Key element is a new distance on the set of all partially ordered measure spaces.
