Abstract

The Conjecture of Chaotic Cosmological Inhomogeneity

We conjecture that the plane-wave spacetimes play an important role as intermediate states in the inhomogeneity of generic cosmological models, in an analogous manner to the role played by Kasner models as intermediate states in the evolution of cosmological models. In particular, we expect oscillatory spatial inhomogeneity between different plane-wave states to be the typical spatial signature.
