Abstract

AP4

Active Galactic Nuclei variability across the electromagnetic spectrum

AGN emit radiation through the whole electromagnetic spectrum, from centimetric radio wavelenghs up to tera-electronvolt gamma-rays. The improved sensitivity of the newest generation of high-energy detectors, such as the Fermi space telescope and the ground-based Cherenkov arrays, have provided a new picture of how radiation variability is related over 15 orders of magnitude in energy, and with it probably new clues on particle acceleration happening in the vicinity of the most massive black holes in the Universe.
