Abstract

Search for Hypothetical Corrections to Newtonian Gravity at lambda ~ 100 nm

Results on the use of Microelectromechanical Torsional Oscillators to search for hypothetical corrections to Newtonian gravity in the ~ 100 nm range will be presented. Since the dominant background in this regime is the Casimir force, it will be demonstrated how measurements of the Casimir force are used to establish new limits. A new experimental approach in how to perform measurements in a so called iso-electronic configuration will also be described. In this configuration differential measurements between systems with equal Casimir force but different gravitational coupling are performed.
