Spin networks and simplicial geometries

A topic of current research in loop quantum gravity and spin foams is the identification of semiclassical states, that is states peaked on a classical geometry of space. The aim of this talk is to discuss the evidence for a relationship between spin network states and simplicial geometries. In particular I will show how, using coherent intertwiners, a class of states peaked on geometries which are continuous and piecewise flat can be identified.
