Quantum de Sitter Universe in 4D Causal Dynamical Triangulations

Causal Dynamical Triangulations is a background independent approach to quantum gravity. In this talk I will present basic methods used to investigate ground state properties of this model. Imposing causal structure of the universe we observe a classical 4D de Sitter spacetime as a "background" geometry. From the study of the spatial volume fluctuations one can determine the effective action for the scale factor. In this framework no degrees of freedom were frozen, however, the obtained action agrees with the "minisuperspace" model, which has maximum symmetry.
