Numerical relativity of black holes |
After a number of recent breakthroughs, numerical general relativity is now providing computer simulations of the last few orbits of two black holes leading to their merger, and the resulting gravitational waves can be computed. I will review the status of the field and comment on progress towards wave templates for gravitational wave astronomy. |
