Technology development for AIGO

AIGRC in University of Western Australia (UWA), together with other groups in Australia, has put great efforts to develop technologies for Australian International Gravitational Observatory (AIGO) that is proposed to be similar to Advanced LIGO in optical configuration and sensitivity. This talk will summarize the technology development at AIGRC. This includes the technology for interferometer itself, such as advanced vibration isolators; test mass suspension, control of instabilities induced by high optical power, the technology for gravitational wave data analysis, such as using graphics processing units (GPUs) for the purpose of accelerating the search pipelines for gravitational waves from coalescing binaries of compact objects, and the technology for multi-messenger astronomy for searching for coincident gravitational wave and optical transients, using the Zadko Telescope, a purpose built 1 meter, fast response optical telescope, co-located with AIGO.
