Abstract

COM1

The Higgs field as an inflaton

It is shown that the Higgs-Boson can serve as the inflaton if one assumes a strong non-minimal coupling to gravity and takes into account quantum corrections. This not only unifies two hypothetical mechanisms but builds a bridge between modern cosmology and particle physics. We predict a limiting range for the allowed values of the Higgs mass which could possibly be measured by future LHC experiments. Ref.: arXiv: 0904.1698 [hep-ph]
