Abstract

COM2

Inhomogeneities and Dark Energy

It has been proposed that local inhomogeneities could explain the observational data without the introduction of dark energy. We examine different approaches adopted such as the inversion method and spatial averaging, showing how the last is in general unrelated to cosmological observations. while the first can successfully fit the Supernovae Ia luminosity distance data. We also provide the general conditions for having a negative deceleration parameter at low red-shift for a LTB model with homogeneous big-bang function.
