Abstract

Loop quantum cosmology of Bianchi I space-times

We show how Bianchi I space-times can be quantized in the framework of loop quantum cosmology. We construct the quantum Hamiltonian constraint, determine its action on a wavefunction for quantum space-times whose matter content is a massless scalar field and present the effective equations approximating the full dynamics. We also show that it is possible to project the full dynamics of the quantum Bianchi I state to an isotropic subspace wherein the resulting dynamics are identical to those found for quantum Friedmann-Robertson-Walker space-times.
