Talk Title |
Dark Energy due to a late time quantum decay process |
Abstract |
We show that Dark Energy "DE" can be generated at late time through a quantum decay process. DE is obtained by the decay of another field and therefore the presence of dark energy is due to quantum effects instead of purely classical evolution. This result permits to explain the coincidence problem. Furthermore, we show that DE and the Inflaton field can be unified into a single scalar field. The same interaction term that leads to the reheating of our hot universe at a high energy leads naturally to the regeneration of DE at a low scale. The Inflaton-DE field ceases to exist during our long lasting hot-decelerating universe phase. |
