Trapping of neutrinos in extremely compact stars and the influnce of brane tension on this process

Abstract

Recently it was shown [Class. Quantum Grav. 26(2009)035003] that trapping of neutrinos in extremely compact objects can play significant role. This was done for internal Schwarzschild spacetimes with uniform energy density distribution. We extended this computation for brany extremely compact stars. We study the influence of bulk tension on the trapping using the simplest model with massless neutrinos and uniform-density stars. In models of Q-stars there is R/M ~ 2.8 available, so they could be good realistic representatives of such extremely compact objects.
