Test particle motion in Reissner-Nordstrom spacetime.

Abstract

Test particle motion in Reissner-Nordstrom spacetime is discussed. In particular stable circular orbits of neutral and charged test particles are analyzed and the effective potential for these cases is studied. A comparison between the black hole and naked singularity cases is performed. In particular the physic of naked singularities and the role of the classical electron radius is investigated. Analytical and numerical analysis for fixed values of the charge-mass ratio of the test particle and the Reissner-Nordstrom spacetime are given.
