Propagation of Magnetized Neutron Stars Through the Interstellar Medium |

Abstract |
We use axisymmmetric magnetohydrodynamic simulations to investigate supersonically moving of magnetized isolated Neutron Stars through the interstellar medium. We consider two cases: 1) Propagation of a non-rotating star with dipole magnetic field aligned with its velocity. 2) Propagation of star with dipole magnetic field rotating in the propeller regime. We investigate interaction of the magnetosphere with the interstellar medium, forming a magnetotail, angular momentum losses and spinning-down of the star. |
