Spectra of primordial fluctuations in a bouncing universe

Abstract

For a long time, the standard cosmological model was consistent with observational data and the problems caused by this theory were concentrated in the early stages of the universe and could be solved by a suitable inflationary model. For decades, inflation appeared to be the only model able to resolve the issues not clarified by the standard model. Models of bouncing universe appear as a good alternative to the inflationary model and therefore it is interesting to know how metric perturbations evolve and, in particular, how they behave in the vicinity of the bounce. In this work, we study the power spectrum of perturbations when they become larger than the scale of curvature in the contraction phase before the bounce, in the context of an universe filled with dark energy and a dust-like fluid.
