Structure of the Proper GRB and fundamental physics processes

Abstract

In the physics of GRBs, we have traditionally assumed the existence of an already formed Kerr-Newman black hole, or its nonrotating limit Reissner-Nordstrom black hole, polarizing the vacuum. We have considered the optically thick phase of the created e+e- plasma self accelerating all the way to the reaching of the transparency. All this was done in order to obtain characteristic time scales and evaluation of the energetics. Now that data on Proper GRBs (P-GRBs, the flash emitted when the plasma reaches transparency) start to be available, this model can be generalized in two important aspects. The description of the electrodynamical properties of two coalescing neutron stars in the early part of the treatment and, in the final part of the treatment, the reaching of transparency. A theoretical framework for approaching these two very complex problems is outlined.
