The standard model of GRBs in the Swift and Fermi era |

Abstract |
I will present a critical review of the standard internal-external shock model of GRBs. I will show how it can account for a large set of data but I will also adress the problems and challenges raised by Swift observations such as the unexpected behavior of the early afterglow or the apparent deficit of confirmed jet breaks. I will then briefly discuss possible modifications to the standard scenario which could help to to solve these difficulties. |
