Talk Title

Dimensional Reduction of the 5D Kaluza-Klein Geodesic Deviation Equation

Abstract

In this talk we consider the dimensional reduction of the geodesic devia- tion equation in the framework of the compactied 5D Kaluza-Klein model. From this analysis, we get a set of equations describing the path deviation during the evolution of two charged particles. The result we present here, generalizes a previous discussion of the same topics, by Kerner et al. 2001, to the presence of the scalar eld naturally arising in the theory and no longer frozen as a costant term. The variation of the q=m ratio between the two geodesic lines is not conserved during the motion and an exact law for such a behaviour is derived. The physical implications of the obtained dynamical scheme are discussed. 1
