SAGACE: the Spectroscopic Active Galaxies and Clusters Explorer |

Abstract |
In the framework of the recent call for small missions of the Italian Space Agency we have studied a space-borne 3m telescope, coupled to a differential mm/submm spectrometer feeding bolometer arrays. The main targets of the system are the measurement of the spectrum of the Sunyaev Zeldovich effect in thousands of clusters of galaxies, the measurement of the C+ line in thousands of galaxies expecially in the redshift desert, and the creation of a spectroscopic catalogue of AGNs in the mm range. Here we focus on the different tradeoffs to accomplish such ambitious goals within the constraints of a small mission. |
