Black holes in scalar-tensor and f(R) gravity
Co-authors | ||||||||
Abstract |
We extend Hawking's result that stationary black holes which are the endpoint of gravitational collapse in BransDicke theory (without a potential) are the same as in General Relativity. We reach the same conclusion for the much more general class of scalar-tensor (with a potential) and f(R) gravity theories, without assuming any additional symmetries. [Based on T.P. Sotiriou & V. Faraoni 2012, Phys. Rev. Lett. 108, 081103] |

Title |
Apparent horizons for black holes embedded in cosmological backgrounds
Co-authors | ||||||||
Abstract |
We compute the location and time evolution of apparent horizons for black holes embedded in Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker backgrounds. Salient features are the appearance and disappearance (in pairs) of apparent horizons, which we try to understand. |
