Title |
Spin foam models as effective theories: abelian case | |||||
Co-authors | ||||||||
Abstract |
After appropriate adjustments, spin foam models can be used as effective theories. We present a study of abelian Yang-Mills theory and abelian BF theory which points out what adjustments are necessary in usual spin foam models. The study is carried out in a manner that prepares the path for the extension to non abelian gauge fields. This work recovers earlier results of Oriti et al. on two dimensional spin foam models, situates it in a different context, and provides an example of a general construction. |
