Title

Boson stars in astrophysics
Co-authors

Abstract

Boson stars can be considered to be potentially existing astrophysical objects. These objects are assumed to play mainly the role of black hole mimickers. However there are astrophysical scenarios where their existence can be discussed. We describe the scenarios considering boson stars may be: compact objects with accretion disks, and compact objects as sources of gravitational waves both through perturbations and collisions. We discuss how the existence of boson stars can be confirmed or ruled out in terms of comparison with black holes.
